Are resources dedicated to Unani and Siddha medicine, such as amber and quicksilver, raw materials, or are these substances constituent for the understanding of bodies, health and culture?

The project ‚The Resource Complex Health and Body Using the Example of Unani Medicine in South India‘ examines the converse constitution of humans, knowledge and resources using the example of indigenous medicine in South India. The study proposes the following questions: What specific way of dealing with resources do Indian medicines such as the Siddha or the Unani medicine show? What is the relation between resources, systems of value, cosmologies and the experience with health and disease in South India? And what influence do economic and technological developments have on resources and their linked semantic patterns?
