How did the exchange of resources between Mesopotamia and the the Persian gulf region work?

The subproject ‚Stones from the South. The Exchange between Mesopotamia and the Persian gulf Region‘ explores the trade of goods at the Persian gulf, which included the acquisition of valuable stones by the Mesopotamian southern areas and empires of the third century B.C. Important here is the formation of resource cultures in southeast Iran. In this particular case an archeological survey is being conducted, to research the resources, trading routes and regional settlement systems in the almost completely uncharted region of southern Kerman.
