How is the environment being drained for resources? What are differences between nomads and settlers when it comes to their relation to their environment?

The subproject ‚Usage of the Resource Land and Sociocultural Alteration on the Iberian Peninsula‘ seeks to answer these questions. The aim is to investigate how landscapes were organized, designed and controlled as a resource structure. That is possible by using a combination of theory and methods from archeology and ethnology. The project seeks to find out the differences between societies with settled agricultural structures and mobile pastoralists. The focus is on the development of the individual dealings with the land, the perception and the usage of resources over the course of the last 5000 years.
