Which role do resource complexes and social networks for the development of societies in southeast Iran play?
In cooperation with archeology and ethnology the subproject ‚Stones from the south.
Resource complexes in southeast Iran in the context of regional and supra regional networks’ researches the link between resource complexes, social networks and the political circumstances in relation to the emergence of societies. A resource complex is a combination of agriculture, craft, and trade. They are only usable when they are integrated into specific networks. These networks consist of mineral resources such das chromite and gemstones as well as non-material resources such as technological knowledge and social capital. While archeology researches networks of the bronze Age, ethnology investigates contemporary networks in the region and compares them to the stated networks of the Bronze Age.
